Guide Training Skiing – Mechanized, is the first of two training programs that prepare candidates for the Assistant Ski Guide exam (ADVG 282). The program focuses on many of the technical skills required to safely lead ski groups in backcountry and mechanized ski operations. Topics covered may include operational decision making, downhill and uphill track setting, record keeping, rope systems (crevasse rescues, cliff rescue), transceiver searches, and snow observation skills. The course may also have a screening component, in particular in the category of ski technique.
