This course is the second half of first year Chemistry designed for students with a strong background in Chemistry. The lecture portion of the course is taught concurrently to students in the Engineering Program as ECHE 121. Lecture topics include: chemical bonding, Lewis structures, molecular shape, Valence Bond Theory, intermolecular forces, organic stereochemistry and electrochemistry. The laboratory stresses fundamental precision techniques in quantitative analytical chemistry, as well as experiences in instrumental analysis, organic chemistry and spectroscopic techniques.
Prerequisite: CHEM 111 (C- minimum)
