The fall semester will introduce students to the various elements of design and composition. This knowledge will be applied to understanding and critiquing works done by artists from various times, and a variety of fields in the visual and performing arts. Students will also be introduced to the work of contemporary Canadian artists. Discussion of style and media related to content will also be included. Assignments and exercises will be demonstrated and discussed in class but students will be expected to carry out these projects outside of designated class hours.
