Research Methods (2,1,0) 3 credits

This course reviews a variety of research methods and techniques used by journalists and other media and communication professionals. The course covers traditional research methods but also has a heavy emphasis on Computer Assisted Reporting (CAR). It is designed to ensure that students are sophisticated researchers, able to separate fact from fiction. In addition to developing the research skills necessary to develop background material prior to interviews, students also learn the essential techniques to do 'live' interviews.
