This is a course in critical writing. The course builds on basic writing skills and teaches the nuances of writing about cultural events and institutions. During the course of the semester the students will review performances, interview artists and cultural leaders and write stories for publication. The course exposes students to some of the best critical writing in the world and teaches students to hone their skills in cultural reporting and writing.
Prerequisite: Third or fourth year standing. Open as elective credit to non-journalism students, space permitting.
