LEARNING OBJECTIVE 1a – Critical Thinking and Decision-Making
Students are able to use analytical and reflective thinking techniques to identify and analyze problems, develop viable alternatives, and make effective decisions. Course Assessed:  MNGT 4780 – Strategic Management

Measure:  Students will prepare a case analysis worth at least 10 per cent of the final course grade. The Critical Thinking and Decision-Making Rubric will be used to assess their performance level. The sample size is equal to approximately 25 per cent of yearly enrolments.

Benchmark:  Eighty per cent of students will meet or exceed expectations.

Students are able to apply appropriate quantitative and qualitative techniques in solving business problems. Course Assessed:  MNGT 4780 – Strategic Management

Students are able to write effective business documents. Course Assessed:  MNGT 4780 – Strategic Management

Measure:  Students will prepare an essay, paper or case analysis worth at least 10 per cent of the final grade. The Writing Rubric will be used to assess their performance level. The sample size is equal to approximately 25 per cent of yearly enrolments.

Benchmark:  Eighty per cent of students will meet or exceed expectations.
LEARNING OBJECTIVE 2b – Communication Skills
Students are able to prepare and deliver effective oral business presentations using a variety of appropriate technologies. Course Assessed:  MNGT 4780 – Strategic Management

Measure:  Students will make an individual business presentation worth at least 10 per cent of the final grade. The Oral Communication Rubric will be used to assess their performance level. The sample size is equal to approximately 25 per cent of yearly enrolments. 

Benchmark:  Eighty per cent of students will meet or exceed expectations.

LEARNING OBJECTIVE 3a – Ethical Behaviour and Social Responsibility
Students are able to identify and analyze ethical conflicts and social responsibility issues involving different stakeholders. Course Assessed:  MNGT 3710 – Business Ethics and Society

Measure:  Students will prepare a case analysis worth at least 10 per cent of the final grade. The Business Ethics and Social Responsiblity Rubric will be used to assess their performance level. The sample size is equal to approximately 25 per cent of yearly enrolments.

LEARNING OBJECTIVE 3b – Ethical Behaviour and Social Responsibility
Students are able to develop viable alternatives and make effective decisions relating to business ethics and social responsibility. Course Assessed:  MNGT 3710 – Business Ethics and Society

Measure:  Students will prepare a case analysis worth at least 10 per cent of the final grade. The Business Ethics and Social Responsiblity Rubric will be used to assess their performance level. The sample size is equal to approximately 25 per cent of yearly enrolments.

LEARNING OBJECTIVE 4a – Core Business Knowledge
Students are able to demonstrate competency in the underlying concepts, theory and tools taught in the core undergraduate curriculum. Course Assessed:  MNGT 4780 – Strategic Management

Measure:  Students will write a multiple choice test based on the core subject areas. The Educational Testing Services (ETS) Major Fields Test will be used to assess their performance level. The sample size is equal to approximately 25 per cent of yearly enrolments.

Benchmark:  Average student score will meet or exceed the national average.

LEARNING OBJECTIVE 5a – Global Perspective
Students are able to identify and analyze relevant global factors that influence decision-making. Course Assessed:  IBUS 3510 – International Business

Measure:  Students will prepare a case analysis worth at least 10 per cent of the final grade. The Global Awareness Rubric will be used to assess their performance level. The sample size is equal to approximately 25 per cent of yearly enrolments.

Benchmark:  Eighty per cent of students will meet or exceed expectations.
LEARNING OBJECTIVE 5b – Global Perspective
Students are able to develop viable alternatives and make effective decisions in an international business setting. Course Assessed:  IBUS 3510 – International Business

Measure:  Students will prepare a case analysis worth at least 10 per cent of the final grade. The Global Awareness Rubric will be used to assess their performance level. The sample size is equal to approximately 25 per cent of yearly enrolments.
