- Start: February 2021
- Finish: August 2021
- Cost: $2 million
Project
A $2-million modernization to complete the remaining common spaces of Old Main.
Benefits
The rooms offer advanced technology, better layouts, brighter spaces, new furniture, and improved sound-proofing and air quality.
Technology upgrades include projector screens, multi-wall screens, touch technology and additional electrical outlets for laptop/tablet use. Room layouts were also modified to support different styles of teaching and learning.
Brighter and quieter spaces feature glass alcove entrances to increase natural light. Use of bold colours in paint and furniture were designed to create inspiring learning environments.
In addition to classrooms, support spaces such as the visuals arts lab, the 2600 block staff room, the Writing Centre space and hallways and bathrooms all underwent substantial renovations.
