Join the Future Students Office as a Summer Campus Visit Guide in May and June!

Are you an enthusiastic and outgoing student with a passion for TRU? Are you comfortable engaging with diverse audiences, including younger students? Look no further - we have the perfect part-time work opportunity for you!

The Future Students Office is seeking vibrant individuals to join our team as Campus Visit Guides for the upcoming spring/summer season. As a Campus Visit Guide, you'll have the exciting opportunity to showcase our campus to local and regional elementary and high school students, helping them envision themselves as future university students.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead engaging campus tours, highlighting key facilities, academic buildings, student amenities, and the link between TRU’s programs and future career goals.
  • Interact with classes of students, answering questions and providing insight into campus life.
  • Assist with event facilitation, including event set-up and tear-down, wayfinding, and other details for overall event success.
  • Collaborate with fellow guides and office staff to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for all visitors.

Qualifications:

  • Comfortable with public speaking and engaging with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Genuine passion for TRU and the ability to convey that enthusiasm to others.
  • Availability to work up to 10 days during the summer, with a minimum of 5 hours per day.
  • Preference given to students who attended high school in Kamloops and surrounding areas.

Additional Information:

  • Visiting groups primarily consist of grade 7 and grade 10 students on class field trips.
  • Guides must be available on the following dates:
    April 26, May 3, May 9, May 13, May 15, May 22, May 24, June 7, June 12, June 14.
    Each visit will conclude by 3:00 p.m.

Note: This position is open to current TRU students only. Previous experience in student recruitment or campus tours is a plus but not required. Training will be provided.
