Purpose: To apply for an eligible program for the StrongerBC future skills grant.

Student information







If you are a BC resident, locate or determine your Personal Education Number (PEN). If you cannot find or do not know your PEN then visit gov.bc.ca/pen to acquire it. Providing your PEN as part of this Program Application is optional but doing so will help streamline the application process.


Woman (People whose current gender is woman. This includes cisgender and transgender people who are women.) Man (People whose current gender is man. This includes cisgender and transgender people who are men.) Non-Binary Gender. (People whose current gender is not exclusively a woman or man. This includes people who do not have one gender, have no gender, are gender fluid, or are Two-Spirit.)

Cisgender. (People whose sex assigned at birth is the same as their gender.) Transgender. (People whose sex assigned at birth is different from their gender.)

By checking this box, I understand and agree that: (i) this is an application for a TRU program only and is subject to the limitation of available resources; (ii) any misrepresentation of information in this application may result in the cancellation of my admission or registration and such misrepresentation may be shared with other post-secondary institutions; (iii) my personal information will be reported as required by provincial or federal authority; (iv) my admission information may be shared with my current high school as needed and applicable; and (v) if I am admitted to a program, I am subject to the policies and rules of TRU.


By checking this box, I declare I have read the student eligibility requirements for the Stronger BC future skills grant (FSG) and meet all requirements; and I intend to claim the StrongerBC future skills grant (FSG) funding up to a maximum lifetime amount of $3,500.


Privacy Notice: Thompson Rivers University (TRU) is collecting your personal information under s.26(c) of the BC Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act for the purpose of processing your application for the StrongerBC Future Skills Grant. TRU will be providing the personal information collected on this form to the BC Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills in order to facilitate the processing of your application. By submitting your application to TRU, you consent to TRU sharing your personal information to the Ministry for this purpose. Your consent is effective as of the date you sign this form.
