Highlights
Become a specialist in employee relations, managing employee planning, recruitment, compensation, training and development, health and safety, and evaluation. Also learn to take the lead in union contract negotiations, grievance handling, including mediation and arbitration, and all other employee-related legal matters such as wrongful dismal, or personal harassment.
Prospects
After acquiring work experience, students are well prepared to complete a graduate degree in either human resource management or labour relations and possibly pursue a career in teaching or research at the college or university level. Earning a law degree with a specialization in labour law is also a possibility.
Admission Requirements
Open admission
Apply to Bachelor of Business Administration
- Grade 12 or mature student status
- Foundations Mathematics 12 or Pre-calculus 12 with minimum C+ (or equivalent)
- English Studies 12/English First Peoples 12 with a minimum of 73% (or equivalent)
If you don’t meet the requirements
High school graduates can apply and be admitted to this program while upgrading at TRU.
Mature students without a high school diploma (or equivalent) can work towards completing their BC High School Graduation Diploma while in this program through TRU courses.
Students who do not qualify for mature student status can apply for the TRU University Preparation program to complete their BC High School Graduation Diploma.
