Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Certificate

Highlights

This 25-week certificate gives you the skills needed for employment in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry. You will also have the fundamental skills needed to install, maintain, and troubleshoot different types of heating, ventilating, refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment.

Careers

Refrigeration mechanics make, install, repair and service residential, commercial and industrial cooling and heating systems. Some work in building maintenance — for example, servicing the air-conditioning systems in high-rise office buildings. Others specialize in repairing small, portable refrigeration and freezing units.

Admission Requirements

• Grade 10 required, Grade 12 preferred
• Successful completion of Accuplacer Reading Comprehension, Sentence Skills, Arithmetic & Algebra tests at the 0500 Level

General Requirements

• Canadian citizenship, or landed immigrant status
• Students must supply own coveralls, boots, safety glasses, and gloves
