Wildfire Science Certificate

Highlights

Wildfire is a frequent occurrence in Canada, with total area burned and the associated impacts increasing recently due to land development and climate change. The Wildfire Science Certificate introduces fundamentals of wildfire science from local to global perspectives. Students will explore factors that influence fire behaviour, prediction, management and impacts, including forest dynamics, weather, socioeconomics, and the culture, health and well-being of communities. This certificate supports students and professionals in environmental fields, and provides a laddering opportunity to Wildfire Studies at further levels.
