Join us! In partnership with Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc Business Economic Development, the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC), City of Kamloops, and Thompson Rivers University (TRU) are hosting an engagement session for Indigenous businesses.
We invite any Indigenous business from the region to attend, as opportunities exist for services (e.g., construction, maintenance, consulting, catering, etc.) and goods (e.g., artwork, gifts, office supplies, etc.).
An Indigenous business can be any of the below types in which Indigenous persons (First Nations/Métis/Inuit) have at least 51% ownership and control.
- A band as defined by the Indian Act
- A sole proprietorship
- A limited company
- A co-operative
- A partnership
- A not-for-profit organization
Why attend?
- Meet with the purchasing staff from BCLC, the City, and TRU, and learn about upcoming business opportunities.
- Provide valuable feedback for the organizations to consider and use in their purchasing practices.
- Your business information will be shared amongst the organizations for future reference and out-reach.
What to expect:
A short presentation on doing business with the public bodies (BCLC, City, TRU) will be followed by an interactive session to learn from the businesses.
Discussions will cover questions such as:
- Do businesses know what opportunities are and where to find them?
- How can opportunities be more accessible?
- How can we be better business partners?
