September orientation

Your TRU adventure begins with orientation. Start the year off right with our Welcome Barbecue, plus a handful of orientation events to help you meet new friends, build connections and explore our campus and the supports available to you.

Orientation is Tuesday, Sept. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

International student orientation

Welcome! You’ve come a long way, and we can’t wait to greet you in person.

Please join your Program Orientation from 9 – 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

Be sure to check in with the international student advisors on Tuesday, Sept. 3 from 2 - 4 p.m. in room 1321 for additional resources available to you.

Welcome Barbecue

The Welcome Barbecue is open to staff, students, faculty and the public. Whether you’re a student or just hungry for a free burger, spend the day with us on Tuesday, Sept. 3 from 11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Enjoy music, enter to win door prizes and connect with community vendors. Burgers will be served until 1:30 p.m.

Soup Circle

Get acquainted with the Gathering Place by enjoying a free bowl of soup on Sept. 4 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. while connecting with your friends, fellow students, faculty and community.

Student Breakfast

Join us in the cafeteria from 7:30 – 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, for a free student breakfast hosted by the carpentry students and Krust & Krumb—yum.

Additional Events

The fun doesn’t stop after your first week.

We offer drop-in support sessions throughout the month of September to keep you on track and help you meet your goals.

And don’t miss Pizza and Planning in the Library on Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 5 – 8 p.m. It’s your chance to map out a successful semester and better connect with students and faculty. Yes, the pizza is free. No, your future self won’t forgive you if you miss this.
