Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate Programs

UCC is pleased to recognize these enriched secondary school programs. Students who have successfully completed AP/IB courses can apply to have the courses equated to specific courses offered at UCC. An AP Grade of 4 or better is required.

The student can receive the specific UCC credit for the courses. This credit will count towards the total UCC credits in their program, and the student can take fewer courses at UCC to complete their program.

Students seeking advanced placement in chemistry can take organic chemistry (CHEM 212/CHEM 222) during the first year. However, they cannot take Chemical Applications of Spectroscopy or Physical Chemistry (CHEM 215/CHEM 225) during the first year unless they have successfully completed the AP calculus B.C. course.
