Harleena

Hi everyone! I’m Harleena, a first year TRU Law student who joined the faculty in September 2025. I remember feeling both overwhelmed and excited during the application and acceptance process, and I want to support prospective and incoming students as they navigate those same steps.

Coming from Delta, B.C., this was my first time moving away for school, which can feel daunting. I hope to ease that transition for others by sharing what to expect in first year, from classes and orientation to meeting new people, getting involved, and finding community.

Jessanna

Hi, I'm Jessanna! I'm a second-year student at TRU Law. Prior to law school, I worked in mental health, youth advocacy and Indigenous community programming. Coming to law school as a mature student and a mother of four, I bring with me extensive life experience and a strong commitment to advocacy and community-building.

I currently serve as vice-president of the Indigenous Law Students’ Association and as the Indigenous representative on the Equity Committee of the TRU Students’ Union Board of Directors. These roles allow me stay connected and contribute to the community while navigating law school life.

What I appreciate the most about TRU Law is the sense of connection both with students and faculty, and how supportive the environment has been — even during the intense parts of first year.

If you have questions about starting law school later in life, relocating to Kamloops, managing family responsibilities while studying or getting involved in student leadership, I’m happy to connect. TRU Law has been a great fit for me and I’m always open to chatting about what that journey can look like.

Hi everyone! I’m Nadia, a recent graduate of TRU Law and a continuing ambassador for the program. Moving from Toronto to Kamloops came with its challenges, but it turned out to be one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve made. I’m happy to answer any questions you have about TRU Law, relocating, life in Kamloops, or the admissions process. I look forward to sharing what I’ve learned and supporting you on your own unique journey!

Hi, I’m Rachel-Anne. I’m a TRU Law alumna. I have enjoyed my experiences here because of the welcoming and supportive environment from both faculty and fellow students. Hi, I’m Harsuman and I am a 2L student at TRU Law. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at TRU till date and always feel very supported by the faculty members. What I admire the most about this law program is the mentorship and cordiality shown by the upper year students as well as the number of opportunities that are in store for you.
