Jessanna
Hi, I'm Jessanna! I'm a second-year student at TRU Law. Prior to law school, I worked in mental
health, youth advocacy and Indigenous community programming. Coming to law school as a mature
student and a mother of four, I bring with me extensive life experience and a strong commitment to
advocacy and community-building.
I currently serve as vice-president of the Indigenous Law Students’ Association and as the Indigenous
representative on the Equity Committee of the TRU Students’ Union Board of Directors. These roles
allow me stay connected and contribute to the community while navigating law school life.
What I appreciate the most about TRU Law is the sense of connection both with students and faculty,
and how supportive the environment has been — even during the intense parts of first year.
If you have questions about starting law school later in life, relocating to Kamloops, managing
family responsibilities while studying or getting involved in student leadership, I’m happy to
connect. TRU Law has been a great fit for me and I’m always open to chatting about what that journey
can look like.
