Karen Perry

BComm (UofC), JD (TRU), LLM (Tax)(Osgoode)

Karen is an associate with Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP in Calgary where she practices in tax controversy, litigation and advisory services. She has represented clients before various courts and has worked on files at the Tax Court of Canada, Federal Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court of Canada.

Her primary focus is on tax dispute resolution and tax planning, as well as administrative hearings under the Health Profession Act and the Municipal Government Act. Prior to joining Osler, she worked in the Calgary offices of PwC Law LLP and in-house for Suncor Energy Inc.

Karen frequently publishes and presents at national and international forums, in both sports and tax law and has worked on research in a wide range of tax and sport-related topics.

In addition to teaching Basic Tax Law, Karen is a coach for the National Sports Law Negotiation Competition. She also provides guidance in both the Jessup International Law Moot and the Donald G.H. Bowman National Tax Moot.
