About the JD Program
The Juris Doctor (JD) program at TRU provides a comprehensive legal education. In your first year, you will establish a solid foundation through core courses in Canadian law. In the second and third years, you can further focus your legal education in areas such as litigation, Indigenous law, business and corporate law, human rights law, sports law and more.

The Thompson Rivers University Community Legal Clinic (TRU CLC) is the first student-staffed free legal clinic in BC’s Interior. Under the supervision of experienced lawyers, TRU Law students provide legal assistance to individuals who otherwise might not have access to these services. By working in the clinic, you’ll gain valuable, hands-on experience while making a meaningful impact in the community.
