Bike Cages

Bike Cage

Secure bicycle parking cages have been installed under the stairwells in Old Main, Arts and Education, Open Learning, Trades and Nursing.

All lockers store six bicycles and are available on a first-come-first-served basis to those registered. McGill Residence also has separate secure bicycle storage available for students who live there. To start an application, please send an email to sustain@tru.ca and include your TRU ID, name, department (if applicable), and your desired location.

Bikeep: Secure Smart Bike Parking Station

Bike Station

Bikeep is a secure bike parking solution in front of Old Main.

Bikeep smart locking stations combine cutting-edge technology with user-friendly features to create a comprehensive solution for bike security. The process is simple and efficient, ensuring that cyclists can lock their bikes with ease.

User Registration

You need to register a personalized account on the Bikeep app, available in the App Store and Google Play.

Subscription Options

Bikeep offers two payment options:

  • $1 per lock (three hours maximum)
  • A $8 monthly subscription for unlimited use

Locking Process

To secure your bike, choose an available station and follow the instructions on the app. You can reserve a Bikeep stall up to an hour ahead of time, ensuring secure parking for your commute. The locking station is equipped with a three-layer security system, including hardened steel locking arm, 120db alarm and real-time local security notifications. The stations are equipped with sensors and alarms to detect tampering or unauthorized attempts to remove the bike. E-Kruise and local security or police receive real-time notifications.

Bike Racks

Bike Racks

Racks are found in and around every building on campus.

Check the campus map.

Bike Shelter

Bike Shelter and Repair Station

The TRU Sustainability Office offers an enclosed and secure outdoor bicycle shelter for students, staff, and faculty.

This shelter is located in between House of Learning and the Human Resources building, just off Sk’lep Trail Rd. All spots in this locker are available on a first-come-first-served basis to those who registered. To apply a spot in the shelter, please send an email to sustain@tru.ca and include your TRU ID, name, and your department (if applicable). Applications are taken annually, in August, meaning each August you are required to apply again. If you do not cycle to work/school in the winter, please let us know so we have available storage spots for those who do.

It is suggested to still lock your bike when parked, and do not park your bike overnight. There are surveillance cameras monitored by the Security office, but it is NOT the security office’s job to recover bicycles. The TRU Sustainability Office suggests that bike riders should spend 10% of the total value of their bike, on a bike lock.

Showers

Shower facilities are available across campus in select buildings.
