Delivery Options

The Master of Science in Environmental Economics and Management (MScEEM) degree is offered on our campus in Kamloops.

As of Fall 2021! Now offering online completion options for MScEEM.

Class times will be scheduled and whether students are studying on campus or online they will attend class together during the scheduled times.

All other courses in the MScEEM program, continue to be available both on campus and also online asynchronously through Open Learning. Any course requirements for proctored exams can be completed via an external online invigilation service.

On-campus courses

All courses in the GDBA and MScEEM programs are available for on-campus study. The MScEEM programs start in September of each year; however, the GDBA courses can be started in September, January or May. Small classes ensure high quality interaction between students and the instructor. The 6000 level ECON courses are offered on campus only once per year.

Online courses

As of Fall 2021 students across Canada will be able to complete the MScEEM program 100% by distance with no requirement to attend any portion on campus. The 8 core 6000-level ECON courses, traditionally delivered face-to-face on campus will now also be delivered synchronously to online students. Class times will be scheduled and whether students are studying on campus or online they will attend class together during the scheduled times.

Other courses in the MScEEM program including the six GDBA and BUSN 6950, continue to be available online asynchronously through Open Learning. The GDBA courses are available every September, January and May and BUSN 6950 is available every January. They are paced courses with deadlines set for assignments and other deliverables. As there are no requirements for real-time interaction with the Open Learning Faculty Members, course content is made available online for students to access when it best suits their schedules. Technological innovations provide options for high levels of online interaction with peers for collaborative work.

Online courses are only available to students residing in Canada. Dates for examinations are set by faculty and our office. Any course requirements for proctored exams can be completed via an external online invigilation service.

Part-time study

Part-time study options are available. Part-time students must complete the MScEEM program within five years of the start of the program. Part-time students are able to select an individualized course load each semester, subject to course availability. As the 6000-level ECON courses are only offered once a year, careful course planning is necessary for part-time students to ensure they can meet their degree requirements on time.
